Andres and Stephanie’s Wedding Portraits in the French Quarter

Andres contacted me with what has become a common request in the covid era: he and his fiance, Stephanie, were getting married in a small courthouse ceremony and they didn’t want pictures of the ceremony (since they’d have to be masked and they have strict COVID precautions in place at the courthouse) but they did want portraits from the day. So they hired me for a quick one-hour wedding day portrait session in the French Quarter later that day.

They were a bit late getting to the session and I joked to my assistant that maybe all the people saying “congratulations!” were holding them up. Little did I know how true that statement was! When I say this couple turned heads I mean they turned heads constantly everywhere we went. I’m used to hearing strangers call out “congratulations!” as I walk through the quarter with a couple of newlyweds. But I have never heard SO many people yell congratulations to a couple as did to Andres and Stephanie! I think the couple might have been a bit overwhelmed by it all. I had only talked to Andres before that day and he was always very sweet and soft-spoken on the phone. He didn’t seem like the type who was used to so much attention! I took all the cheers as encouragement as I photographed this show-stopping couple.

We ended the session by putting them in the wedding carriage from Royal Carriages (the best carriage company in town!!) and catching a photo of them kissing as it rolled away (a lot of people request a recreation of my iconic red carriage photo from one of my earliest Surprise Proposal Photography clients, Coleson and Elizabeth). I’m always happy to oblige!

I dare you to look at these images of Andres and Stephanie and NOT want to yell out “congratulations!”.
