Johnathon proposes to Emily at the St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square
About one in every twenty people who contact me about New Orleans Surprise Proposal Photography know exactly what they want to do. They know where they want to propose and exactly what time and day. These are usually locals who know the city well. Johnathon was one of these locals who emailed me with a plan in place. All he needed me to do was show up and capture it! I have a package designed just for people like Johnathon who don’t need extra planning. He seemed surprised when I suggested that basic package and didn’t try to upsell him! “It doesn’t sound like you need anything more than that” I said to him. “I don’t like it when people try to sell me things I don’t need. I’m not going to do that to you!”. He appreciated the honesty instead of salesmanship and booked on the spot.
His proposal to Emily was the first of two on a Saturday proposal double-header at famous Jackson Square. I always arrive early to proposals just in case the couple runs early. Which happens rarely but it does happen- and this was one of those times! I spotted Johnathon and Emily walking towards me and he caught my eye and winked. Moments later he was on one knee popping the question!
Emily’s reaction melted my heart. She was so clearly head over heels in love with Johnathon and absolutely thrilled that he surprised her with a marriage proposal. They were so sweet, holding each other close, foreheads pressed together that I didn’t interrupt them for a while. I just hung back and kept snapping candid shots.
