Steph and Kaitlynn’s LGBTQ Proposal on the Moon Walk

I started working with Steph on her Surprise Proposal to Kaitlynn several months before the big day. She had a trip to New Orleans planned for February and knew that’s where she wanted to propose. She also knew she needed an insider’s help planning it out. As New Orleans only Surprise Proposal Expert Photographer, I was the right person to call!

She wanted three songs important to her and Kaitlynn played by a musician before she proposed. But instead of them standing there waiting on three whole songs to finish (giving Kaitlynn more time to figure out the surprise), I got the mega talented Dr. Sick to compose a custom medley of all three songs. We hopped on zoom together and looked at locations all over New Orleans. She was most drawn to the riverfront. Since it was a winter proposal, we ran the risk of it being cold and windy out there. But being from the Northeast, a bit of cold didn’t scare Steph.

I think Steph came up with the most elaborate diversion to get Kaitlynn to the spot. She told her she had booked a helicopter tour of New Orleans and the helipad was at the end of the moon walk! Kaitlynn didn’t seem to mind that there wasn’t actually a helicopter waiting for them. Instead, I pretended to photograph my assistant against the foggy Mississippi River when I was really sneaking shots of them listening to Dr. Sick play. Then I was ready to spring into action when Steph pulled out the ring. Kaitlynn was completely surprised and also quite stoked that she was dressed to the nines for her surprise engagement session! We took a stroll around the French Quarter together and had a hell of a good time. So good that Steph and Kaitlynn decided to get married here and work with me for their wedding! Of course, I said “yes” too!
