As a New Orleans Wedding Photographer, I sometimes forget that there are more locations to shoot in than just the French Quarter. This is going to sound a little crazy but this is the first time I’ve captured engagement photos in Audubon Park. I know, right? I’ve used the park as a backdrop for many other types of portraits but Katelyn and John were the first couple to request it for an engagement session. It only made sense to shoot Katelyn and John’s engagement photos there since their wedding will be at the Audubon Clubhouse. I’ve been in love with City Park as an engagement backdrop for some time now. But man- Audubon may have just won a spot in my heart. You know who else did? Katelyn and John.
Katelyn found me on the wonderful world that is Instagram. I didn’t get to meet John until our shoot together but if I wasn’t excited about shooting their wedding before meeting him, I certainly was after (spoiler alert: I was already excited, duh! When have I ever not been excited to shoot a wedding?). John kept Katelyn in stitches the entire shoot. They didn’t take themselves seriously at all. I didn’t even need to roll out my usual tricks to get them smiling. They already had plenty of inside jokes and John knew exactly what to say and do to get Katelyn laughing. I got such a kick out of these two. I wish I didn’t have to wait until next June to photograph their wedding!
