Photographing a wedding is always an honor but being invited to capture the wedding of someone I've known from way-back-when is something extra special. I met Jessica in High School and was really delighted to meet with her and her fiancé, Ian, last month to hear their love story. I was even more excited when they asked me to photograph it!
Jessica and Ian met in Nursing school and are both now working as Nurses with pretty incredible specializations- Ian is an ER Nurse and Jessica is a NICU Nurse. Although that means they both work crazy hours it also means they get to come home to someone who knows just how challenging the work they do is. In spending the afternoon with them on their engagement session, I saw just how perfect they are for each other. Ian kept Jessica laughing the whole time and I kept catching him sneaking sweet kisses on her forehead or her looking at him with eyes full of love. They were pretty friggin' adorable. We decided to do their engagement session in Historic Algiers Point of New Orleans where Jessica grew up and where they both still live. Even though I also grew up in Algiers, I had never done an engagement session there! It was the perfect backdrop for their love story. They tie the knot April 29th, 2016. I can't wait!
