The first time I photographed my cousin Aubrey, she was a shy 3 year old without much to say. It took a while to get her warmed up to the camera but once she did we had a really great time. Now she is 7 (going on 8, she informed me) and so full of sass and energy I can hardly believe she is the same kid! She is a MMDA dancer and showed off her hip hop costume during our shoot. She had lots of ideas for poses and I let her run with it. Even though she tried to give me the “attitude” her costume implied, her silliness shined through with the end result being a fun set of images filled with personality.
If you would like to support the MMDA Dancers, come out to their 4th Annual Cooking for Kicks Crawfish Cookoff on Sunday, April 19th 2015.
